There is nothing to upgrade to. Krono earns from two separate things: fixed-fee expert engagements, and one-time purchases of our courses and books. This page covers what's free, what costs money, and where everything lives once you're signed in. ## The platform — free, in full, no card required Search your product and market and get a complete compliance plan immediately — every standard, document, test, and certification that applies, laid out in the order you'd work through them. Everything built on top of that plan is included too. There is no free tier and no paid tier; there is just the platform. * Unlimited projects, across all nine markets * Export any plan as PDF, Markdown, or DOCX * Draft your declarations and certificates in the built-in editor, and export them as PDF * The certificate registry, the compliance calendar, and the testing lab directory * Lab submission tracking, task assignment, per-item comments, and the activity feed * Shared workspaces with unlimited members — admins, editors, and read-only viewers * The portfolio dashboard across every product in your workspace * Regulatory-change monitoring, as a per-project toggle No account is required to generate a plan. Signing in is what lets you keep projects, draft documents, and work with other people. ## What we don't store Krono drafts documents for you and hands them back — it does not hold your files. When you open a document item, we generate a draft pre-filled from your product's actual legislation and standards, you edit it in the browser, and you export it as a PDF. The text you write is saved so you can come back to it. Your test reports, drawings, and technical construction file stay wherever you already keep them; there is no upload, because we don't want custody of them. See [Generating documents](/docs/generating-documents) for how drafting works. ## Services — fixed-fee expert engagements When you want a compliance engineer to actually do the work rather than map it, there are twelve fixed-fee engagements on the [services page](/services) — from a $99 customs classification or a $149 regulatory snapshot, through a $299 compliance gap report and a $399 technical file review, up to a $999 portfolio-wide review across several products. There is no checkout for these. You describe your product and target markets, we come back within one business day with the scope and a fixed price, and nothing is charged until you've agreed both in writing. No subscription, no retainer, no hourly billing, no minimum engagement. ## Requesting a service from inside a project Every project has a **Get expert help** tab. It shows the same engagements as the [services page](/services), narrowed to what's relevant for that product — always the Compliance Gap Report, Technical File Review and Pre-Test Design Review, plus market-specific ones picked from the markets your project actually covers. Requesting from there pre-fills the form with your product and markets, and attaches the project so we can open your plan before replying. There used to be a separate in-platform “Project Review” audit with its own checkout and its own price ladder. It was retired — there is one way to buy expert work, and this is it. ## Courses and books — one payment, yours permanently Courses and books are a completely separate product from the platform, priced and sold independently. They are one-time purchases with lifetime access, never a subscription. Buy a single course or book, buy a themed bundle at 50% off, take the whole library with the **All-Access Krono Vault**, or put your team on it with **Krono Team Vault** — seat-based access to the entire catalog with an admin dashboard, progress tracking, and seat management. See [the pricing page](/pricing) for all of them side by side. ## Workspaces, members, and seats A workspace is free and has no member limit. Create one from Settings → Team & Workspace and invite whoever you work with as an admin, member, or read-only viewer. Workspace membership is not billed and never has been capped by a plan — see [Team collaboration](/docs/team-collaboration) for roles and per-project sharing. The only seats Krono sells are Krono Team Vault seats, which grant course and book access. Those are a content purchase and are entirely separate from who can use a workspace. An admin can add Team Vault seats at any time from Settings → Team & Workspace. ## Where everything lives once you're signed in Your account is split into two shells: the **platform**, for the compliance work itself, and a separate **Settings** dashboard for your workspace, team, and personal account. Jump into Settings any time from the gear icon at the bottom of the platform sidebar, or from the account menu in the top navigation bar. **Platform sidebar** — Map a product (search and start a new project), Projects (everything you've started), Find a lab (the testing lab directory), and All products (the portfolio dashboard), followed by a Learning section with My Courses and My Books. **Settings dashboard** — Team & Workspace (members, and Team Vault seats if you have them), Profile (your account details), and My Orders (your full purchase history across courses, books, and services). Old bookmarks to previous URLs (like `/profile`, `/platform/dashboard`, or `/platform/[project]/roadmap`) still work — they redirect to the current location automatically.
