## How this works

Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) applies UK product rules and the UKCA marking, while Northern Ireland continues to apply EU product rules under the Windsor Framework, so CE marking is what counts there.

The body that carried out any mandatory third-party assessment matters. An EU notified body's certificate supports CE marking. A UK approved body's certificate supports UKCA for GB — and for Northern Ireland the product then carries CE together with the UKNI mark.

## Questions

### Can I use CE marking in Great Britain?

For most product regulations the UK government continues to recognise CE marking in GB. Some regulations differ, so check yours.

### What is the UKNI marking?

It's used alongside CE on goods for Northern Ireland when a UK approved body did the mandatory third-party conformity assessment. Goods with CE+UKNI can't be sold in the EU.
