## CE mark specifications

### Minimum height

5mm

Must be at least 5mm high on the product or packaging

### Proportion

CE letters must be in proportion

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Where must the CE mark be placed?

The CE mark can be placed on the product, its packaging, or the user manual. If placed on the product, it must be permanent. If on packaging, it must be visible through the packaging or on the exterior. The mark must be clearly visible and legible.

### Can I create my own CE mark artwork?

Yes, but you must follow the official CE logo specifications. The CE mark is a registered EU symbol. Use the official proportions from the EU guidelines. Do not modify, stretch, or add elements to the CE mark.

### What if my product is too small for a 5mm CE mark?

For very small products, the CE mark can be reduced if it remains clearly legible. However, this is an exception. Consider placing the mark on packaging or documentation instead. Document the rationale for any size reduction.

### Do I need to include the Notified Body number?

Include the four-digit Notified Body number immediately after the CE mark only if a Notified Body was involved in the conformity assessment. For Module A self-certification, no Notified Body number is included.

### Can the CE mark be printed in color?

Yes, the CE mark can be printed in color, but it must maintain contrast and legibility. The standard is black on a light background or the reverse. Ensure the mark remains clearly visible regardless of color choice.
