About Krono

We built the compliance resource we needed and never had

Krono was founded by Pranav K, a hardware engineer who has spent more than eight years leading teams in the robotics and hardware industry, and who dealt with compliance first-hand on the engineering side: the redesigns discovered during certification, the launches held for a document nobody understood, the budget nobody planned for. We built Krono so the next team doesn't find out the hard way.

Where this started

A gap between engineering and compliance that everyone pays for, differently

The engineering pain

Compliance requirements arriving after the board is laid out, the enclosure is tooled, or the firmware is frozen — turning a documentation gap into a hardware redesign.

The business pain

Launch dates slipping by months because nobody could say, with confidence, what a product actually needed until a lab or a consultant was already three weeks into finding out.

The compliance pain

Being the one person who has to translate a directive written for lawyers into something an engineering team can actually act on — every time, from scratch, for every product.

From the founder

I've been the engineer on the wrong side of that handoff

I'm Pranav K. I've spent more than eight years as a hardware engineer, most of it leading teams in the robotics and hardware industry. Compliance was never my job title, but it kept landing on my desk anyway, and usually at the worst possible moment.

I've seen a requirement surface after the board was laid out, when the fix was a re-spin instead of a line in a spec. I've seen launch dates slip because nobody could say with confidence what the product needed until a lab was already involved. I've seen teams pay for the same test twice because each market was treated as a separate project, and watch weeks go by waiting on someone to explain what a Declaration of Conformity actually needs.

None of that was anyone's fault. Compliance knowledge lives in directives, standards and the heads of a few specialists, and engineering teams are rarely given a way to get at it before it matters. By the time it surfaces, it's already expensive: a schedule slip, a re-spin, a certification that has to be redone.

Krono is what I wanted in those moments. A free way to see what applies before you design against it. Courses and books for teams who want to own the process. And, when you'd rather hand it over, Krono's compliance team to take your product through to legal sale, with one person accountable from start to finish.

What we believe

Clarity is the product. Judgement stays yours.

Compliance clarity should be free and immediate

Knowing what applies to your product shouldn't require a paid consultation or a week of waiting. Our platform maps your requirements across CE, UK, US, India, Canada, UAE, Hong Kong, Japan, and Australia in minutes, at no cost.

Teaching the process beats generating the paperwork

We don't let a model draft your Declaration of Conformity or technical file — a subtly wrong AI-drafted legal document is a real liability, not a shortcut. We teach the process instead, so your team can own it.

The gap closes earliest at the engineering desk

The cheapest time to learn a compliance requirement is before it's designed against, not after. Our courses and books exist so that clarity reaches engineers directly, not just the compliance function.

Built from what actually applies, not generic advice

Every course, book, and roadmap is built from the same structured regulatory data — real directives and standards, not paraphrased summaries — so what you learn is what your product is actually held to.
